A Shayna Maidel
(Yiddish for 'A Pretty Girl')
by Barbara Lebow
January 27, 28, 29 / February 3 & 4, 10 & 11, 2012
For sixteen years two sisters have lived on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean. One sister is unscathed by WWII; the other sister's experience is painful and life-changing. Now in 1946 they are going to start living together in a small NYC apartment! Can they find anything in common? Can they be a family at all?
A Shayna Maidel is a play of intensity and beauty that will stay with you for a very, very long time.
