Hope on the

Orphan Train

by Evangeline DeMaster

May 13-22, 2016

Every child needs a home, a place to belong! Yet, in the 1850's, immigrations to America, disease, industrial revolution, all combined to produce thousands of orphans in east coast cities. From 1854 to 1929, over 200,000 orphans were put on trains, sent west, and placed in new homes. Hope on the Orphan Train follows five orphans and their escort from NYC, through Chicago, to Iowa. It includes Irish song and dance and a whole lot of hope!

A.L.T.A. is a theatre of HOPE, bringing some of the funniest and most heartwarming performances in an intimate setting.

Dubbed "the small-but-mighty theater" by Cascadia Weekly.

Our Mission Statement:
A.L.T.A. exists to reflect a ray of hope into the brokenness of the human condition by creating artistic, thought-provoking and entertaining theatre.

From its beginning A.L.T.A. has rehearsed and performed in the Alger Community Church. We creatively transform this working church into a quaint and intimate theatre. We offer the audience a heart-felt experience, interesting and creative sets, and--to top it all off--we'll satisfy your sweet tooth with dessert and coffee before the show. Please join us! We would love to see you.
